How to prompt for great answers
The knowledge base searches the documents' own words — think Ctrl+F across every code book at once. Phrase questions the way the source would, and they land.
1 · Ask like a heading, not a sentence
2 · Name the code, use its vocabulary
| You'd say on site | The code says |
|---|---|
| exit / escape route | means of escape, travel distance |
| coastal / near the sea | severe / very severe exposure |
| concrete cover | nominal cover to reinforcement |
| FSI / FAR | floor area ratio |
| setback | open spaces |
| fireproof rating | fire resistance |
| earthquake design | seismic, zone factor |
3 · Know a clause or table? Say it
The strongest query there is — it lands on the exact spot: NBC 2016 Table 16 nominal cover durability. And one question at a time — each question searches once, so ask three things as three questions.
Copy-ready query patterns
Tap any chip to copy it, paste into Claude or ChatGPT (with the connector on).
Build your own query
Pick a code and drop in your topic keywords — it assembles a source-shaped query.
aec NBC 2016 nominal cover durability exposureaec to nudge the tool. A miss never costs a credit, so experiment freely.
